Overview

You may receive the following error when attempting to make a payment using Quick Pay in Quicken Bill Manager:

"Your payment has been canceled because [biller name] has indicated you recently made a payment. The payment was canceled to ensure that you do not double-pay."

Cause

If you make more than one payment to a bill within a short period of time, the biller may reject the payment. Billers have several reasons for rejecting these payments:

  • Help you avoid making duplicate payments that then need to be reversed.
  • Help you avoid overpaying the amount due, creating a credit balance. Some credit card issuers block overpayments to avoid fraud.

To resolve this issue

Check your bill to determine if you’ve already paid, possibly through another method. If you have already paid the full amount due, wait until you receive your next bill.

If you still have an outstanding balance on your bill, wait a day or two before resubmitting the payment. The biller may not allow customers to pay more than the remaining amount due.
