Overview
Quicken Bill Manager’s Quick Pay is a fast and easy way to make payments to any of the 11,000 billers you connect to online. It connects to your biller’s website and makes instant payment requests on your behalf. You don't have to worry about sending the payment in advance or getting late fees when you miss a due date.
However, we recognize that while the service is quick, it can be unreliable at times. The service is sensitive to biller website outages and additional security requirements like multi-factor authentication, which can lead to payment failures and the inconvenience of having to resubmit payments.
What’s new
Quicken Bill Manager now has a significant enhancement aimed at increasing the reliability of your Quick Pay payments! Quick Pay now supports payments over the Automated Clearing House (ACH) network, the very same network used by banks that offer a bill payment service.
How it works
Payments will continue to be made using the biller website in order to preserve the speed of Quick Pay. However, when it’s likely that a payment will fail through the biller website, we will automatically re-route the payment through the ACH network. In essence, ACH serves as a fallback for payments that would have otherwise failed. This will provide a more dependable payment experience.
What do I have to do?
You may be prompted to enter your complete account number for a biller. Full account numbers can often be found on your bill statements or the biller website. For credit card accounts, this may be the credit card number itself. Providing your biller account number helps us to ensure that payments are delivered reliably when using the ACH network.
Additionally, we recommend scheduling your payments with a little extra time in advance, as you’ll notice a slightly extended payment delivery estimate. Extending the delivery time helps us ensure that payments can be delivered reliably. Typically, most Quick Pay payments will be processed within 24 hours.
Please note that this ACH payment fallback functionality isn’t available for all billers just yet. We are working to expand support for more billers in the near future. In the meantime, you can expect increased payment reliability for 70 major billers such as American Express, Discover card, ConEdison, GEICO, PennyMac, and many more!
