Overview

When you start Quicken, it opens the last data file you used. You can work with only one data file at a time.

Note: If you're looking to restore a backup, follow the instructions in this FAQ.

Instructions

To work with a different data file during a single Quicken session:

  1. Choose File menu > Open Quicken File.
    • Note: Quicken displays the folder containing the current data file (the Quicken folder by default). If you need help determining where another data file is, Quicken can help you find a file.
Don't open data files in the BACKUP folder. They need to be restored, and they may not contain current information.
  2. Select the file you want to open, or enter the name of the file in the File name field.
  3. Click OK.
