Overview
This error occurs when the bank's website is unavailable to download transactions to Quicken. This could be due to a website outage, or the bank may be preventing Quicken from accessing their website due to high traffic.
Note: You may be able to log in to the bank's website successfully and still receive this error in Quicken. This is because the error is caused by an issue on the bank's servers that Quicken uses to download transactions.
Before you begin
Vanguard, Vanguard Ascensus, and Fidelity Investments Customers: These institutions all limit connectivity during market hours for two-hour blocks. If you encounter this error when trying to update your accounts with these institutions, it's recommended that you try updating them again after waiting two hours.
To resolve this issue
We recommend to first check the Quicken Community for alerts on widespread issues or bank outages.
If there are no alerts in the Community, wait 24 to 48 hours and then try to update the account again.
