For customers of Quicken.com and Quicken branded desktop and mobile products and services (collectively “Quicken”), below is information about how Quicken collects, uses, and shares your information. This Privacy Statement does not apply to other Intuit products and services that do not display or link to this statement or that have their own privacy statements.
What is Personal Information?
“Personal Information” means data that identifies you and is associated with a specific person. Personal information does not include information that is anonymous and aggregated or is no longer identifiable to a specific person (i.e. de-identified).
Information We Collect
Quicken collects many kinds of information in order to operate effectively and provide you the best products, services and experiences we can. We collect information when you provide it to us, such as when you purchase a product, register, sign in, or call us for support. We may also automatically collect information when you use our sites, products and services. We also may get information from other companies or third parties. We automatically collect this information in a variety of ways, including from web forms, through technologies like cookies, web logging, and software on your computer, mobile, or other devices. The type of information we collect may depend on the Quicken features you use and may include: name and contact information; your user name and password; payment and financial data; third party content and functionality, if you use third party connected services; usage data (i.e. information about how you interact with our products and services); contacts and relationship information; information about the devices you may use to connect to our products and services; and feedback information, if you as a user provide us feedback and suggestions. Quicken is a personal financial management service that can automatically download financial information, such as current account balances and transactions. To provide you with this service, we need to access your online financial account.
How We Use Your Information
Quicken uses the information we collect to operate, improve and personalize the products and services we offer, to run our business, to develop new products, or to market to you Quicken and other products and services you might be interested in.
We use your information, including your personal information to:
- Operate our business, including informing you about your account or provide security updates.
- Improve your experience with our products and services.
- Develop new products and services.
- Advertise, promote, or market our or our partner’s products and services.
- Comply with applicable laws or respond to lawful legal process from law enforcement and government agencies.

Reasons Why We Share Personal Information
Except as described in this statement, we will not, without your permission, sell, publish or share information you entrust to us that identifies you or any person.
We may share your personal information as needed to complete any transaction or provide any service you have requested or authorized with vendors or affiliates working on our behalf; or when required by law or to respond to legal process.
We may also share or disclose your personal information with Intuit affiliates and subsidiaries. We may share or disclosure your personal information to protect our customers; to maintain the security of our services; to detect, prevent or report fraud, criminal activity, or violations of our terms of service/use; to protect the health and safety of our customers or the general public; and to protect our rights and property. We will not share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes or benefit.
We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to share or disclose your personal information with law enforcement, government officials, and other regulatory agencies.
We may use non-personal information (i.e. de-identified data) for academic, research, policy, or marketing purposes. We will only share or make available anonymous or aggregate information that cannot by used to identify you or any other person with:
- Third parties for research, policy, or academic purposes and those third parties may publicly report the findings of their research or analysis;
- Organizations that conduct research into consumer spending; and
- Users of the service for purposes of comparison of their personal financial situation relative to the broader community.
If Quicken or its assets are acquired by another company, or in the event of a merger, consolidation, change in control, transfer of substantial assets, reorganization, or liquidation, we may transfer, sell, or assign to third parties, information concerning your relationship with us, including, without limitation, personal information that you provide and other information concerning your relationship with us. Such third parties will assume responsibility for the personal information collected by us in connection with our business operations or through our Sites and such third parties will assume the rights and obligations regarding such information as described in this Quicken Privacy Statement.
Security of Your Data
Quicken takes the security of your data seriously. We use technical and administrative security measures such as, but not limited to, firewalls, encryption techniques, and authentication procedures, among others, to maintain the security of your online session.
Accessing Your Information
You may access, review, and update much of the information you have submitted to us at any time via Quicken.com. You may chose to close or request that we delete your account and your associated data at any time.
We will use commercially reasonable efforts to remove your data, although some information may be retained. For example, some information may be retained on a server or media, which is necessary to help ensure continued availability of our products and services. We retain your personal information as long as necessary to provide the services you have requested. We may retain personal information to comply with law, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, trouble shoot problems, enforce our TOS, and as permitted by applicable law.
Communications Preferences
We may send periodic product or service-related alerts, weekly summaries, notifications, newsletters, promotions, or other information via phone, email and text. You may choose to stop receiving alerts, summaries, newsletters and promotions by indicating your preference in your account profile or settings.
You may also follow the unsubscribe instructions in the email or text message you receive. Please note that certain service-related messages that we send are necessary for the proper functioning and use of the Quicken product and services and you may not have the ability to opt-out of those messages.
Where Your Data May Located
The data we process may be transferred to, stored, and processed in, the United States or any other county in which Quicken, it’s parent company or its affiliates, subsidiaries, or service providers maintain operations. By using and providing information to us through our service, you agree and consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of your data to any such country in order to provide the service.
Your Usage Data
When you first register to use Quicken, we capture your information as specified in the product registration screens. On an on-going basis, we collect basic information about your computer configuration and how you use Quicken. These reports are sent to us to help us improve our products. The on-going data we collect does not contain any personal information and is not used to identify you. It does NOT intentionally contain any contact information like name or address. Your accounts and financial transactions are NOT included. These reports generally include information about: computer configuration, like monitor resolution; application use, such as the features that you use most often. You should be aware that for certain types of usage data, collection of this information is critical to providing the product or service to you and you will not be able to disable or turn off the collection of critical usage data. Other non-critical usage data can be turned off.
Analytics
We may deploy our own technologies or use third parties to help us analyze certain online activities or your usage of our products. For example, these service providers may help us measure the performance of our online promotions or analyze activity on our online products. We may permit these third parties to use cookies and similar technologies to perform these services. We do not share any personal information with these third parties and these third parties do not collect such information on our behalf. For example, we may use service providers such as Google Analytics, MixPanel, and Adobe’s Analytics services on parts of the site, products, or services to determine age, gender, interest and other data to better serve our customers. Cookies; Web Beacon and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies, including mobile app identifiers, to help us recognize you across different services, products, learn about your interests both on and off our services, improve your experience, increase security, offer products, measure use and effectiveness of our services, and serve advertising. Most browsers provide you with the ability to control (i.e. block, delete, or disable) these technologies. You should be aware that some technologies are essential and you will not be able to disable or turn off this functionality. Synchronizing Your Service Using Desktop Software
Some Quicken services or features ruing on your computer or mobile device may require an Internet or on-line connection. When you are connected to the Internet from within the software we may also include product updates and messages, service information and help content in the Internet transmissions. Some of our Web-enabled products and services synchronize with the information on your computer to help keep the data accurate and provide additional online services. In some cases, you can manage the frequency of these updates. Quicken Connect accounts use sync services as part of transaction download and cannot be disabled.
When you access certain services or features from a Quicken program running on your computer, we will log the connection (such as the link you clicked on or the update service you are using) and we may also collect information (such as usage information) about your product, system or other technical data that will help us direct you to the appropriate information or service or to improve the service itself. We may need to access or log some information you enter to troubleshoot or resolve a problem. We may use non-identifying information you post or synchronize with our Web-based products and services, as well as information about how you use the service, to improve existing products and services, to develop and deliver new services, and to provide marketing or advertising which may be of interest to our users. We may also combine your information with that of others in a way that does not identify you, your company, or any individual personally. This non-identifying information may be used in new services or to publish aggregate usage trends/employment trends/other information that does not identify any company or any individual.
Automatic Software Product Update
Quicken works to continually improve our software products. From time to time, we make updates available for customers to download. An update might include a time saving new feature, minor repairs to keep software running smoothly, or timely information relevant to customers' requirements. For users of Windows-based computers, when a new update is available, Quicken will download the update and ask the user for permission before installing it. This auto-patch feature checks for new updates, when Quicken starts up and when updates are available, the patch will be downloaded in the background. When user re-starts Quicken, user will be notified of the new patch that has been downloaded and ask for user’s permission to install the same. Once user approves the install, the patch will be installed.
Intuit ID
Intuit ID is a service that allows you to sign-in to a variety of Intuit products, services, and sites. This will remain in effect as a service that Intuit provides to the Quicken organization. We will collect certain information for security purposes in order to verify your identity, or to reset your password if you cannot access your account. Some products and services may require added security and you may be asked to provide additional information. The email address and password that you use to sign up for your Quicken or Intuit account are your "credentials" that you will use to authenticate with our network. We assign a unique ID number to your credentials to identify you and associated information.
Your Online Activity; Location Data; Do Not Track
We collect information about your interaction with our products and services such as computer browser type, pages visited, average time spent on our Site, IP address, unique identifier of the device, operating system version and app version.
If you choose to use product or service that uses information about your location, we may collect location information from your device and will notify you of this collection. You may control or disable the sharing of location information via your device setting and/or the service.

Children
Quicken does not knowingly collect information from children. Quicken.com and Quicken products and services are not intended for children under the age of 13.
Trustee Privacy Seal Program
Quicken is certified through TRUSTe’s Privacy Seal Programs. In order to obtain certification, Quicken disclosed its information privacy practices to TRUSTe for its review to ensure compliance with TRUSTe’s requirements. Our compliance with the TRUSTe program is viewable on the validation page available by clicking the TRUSTe seal.
Changes to Our Privacy Statement(s)
We may update this Privacy Statement periodically. If we make material changes to the way we process your personal information, we will provide you notice via our service or by some other means, such as via email or in-product notification. Please review any changes carefully. If you agree with the changes, continue to use our products or services. If you object to any of the changes and no longer wish to use our services, you may close your account(s). Quicken.com Investing Center
To use the Investing Center you must be a registered user of a currently supported version of Quicken software and you must have an Intuit ID and password. When registering, we verify your Intuit ID, password and Quicken software version year to allow you access to Quicken.com services. For more information, see http://www.quicken.com.
PayTrust and Quicken Bill Pay
PayTrust and Quicken Bill Pay are services that allow you to manage online payment of your bills. Quicken, Inc. and Metavante Payment Services, LLC have formed a relationship to make available to you the PayTrust online payment service. Your financial information is transmitted securely over the Internet.
When enrolling online for PayTrust or Quicken Bill Pay, we request your Social Security number and date of birth. This information is necessary to verify your identity at the time of enrollment. Your date of birth and the last four digits of your Social Security Number may be used to verify your identify and prevent fraudulent use of your account information in the event you contact Customer Service for assistance. This information will also be used to verify critical information about you, including your contact information, in relation to your payment service. Bank account information, such as account number, type and routing transit numbers, is used to process your payment and service fees. Your information is transmitted securely. The PayTrust or Quicken Bill Pay enrollment page is hosted by a third party, Metavante Payment Services LLC, on our behalf. Metavante is not permitted to use your information for anything other than to provide you the services you are requesting. Intuit and Metavante Payment Services, LLC have formed a relationship to make available to you the Quicken Bill Pay online payment service.
